About the Speaker

Your Presenter, Wayne Newell

For the past 35 years Mr. Newell has served in senior financial leadership roles and worked with companies throughout Canada, the United States and the Caribbean. His experiences and expertise, shared with many companies, has helped owners, managers, employees and businesses grow.

During the seminar he will discuss his experiences in implementing specific techniques, methods and strategies used to help contracting companies increase profits and improve cash flows. Wayne tells stories about good and not-so-good decisions and what has been learned from them. You may even have had had similar experiences.

He understands that many companies cannot afford to hire the full-time services of a financial manager, senior accountant or controller. While this is prudent management, the offset is often weak cost controls, late and inaccurate financial reports and cash flow problems.

Wayne’s experience ranges from guiding small, medium and large contractors. No matter the size of the company, he has shown owners, managers and employees how to best perform, lead, and follow; all the while saving money and time.

Wayne’s two day Finance and Accounting for Non-Financial Managers, developed specifically for non-financial managers in the construction industry, guides project managers, project coordinators, estimators, field superintendents, owners and senior managers through the financial and measurement techniques needed to manage contracting businesses.

Wayne served as Governor of a National service club, leading 18 executives responsible for 96 clubs and 2700 members. He was elected a life member of the Kinsmen Association for outstanding efforts and leadership in a volunteer role.

In the past he achieved his CMA (Certified Management Accountant) designation and presented his first Profitable Contracting seminar in 2003.

Seminars similar to Profitable Contracting were presented to Canadian Land Surveyor Associations (8 cities), the Sheet Metal Contractors Association of Alberta and the Canadian Mechanical Contractors Education Foundation (5 cities).
